3/17 Chisel Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, late C18. English bond brickwork with some flared headers. Tiled
roofs with stone-slate margins and end brick stacks. Double pile plan of 2
parallel ranges. Symmetrical facade. 2 storeys, 3 window range. Upper floor
has 3, 2-light casements with glazing bars under segmental brick heads. Ground
floor has 2, C20 bow windows with glazing bars flanking a central, glazed, double
C20 door. According to the RCHM the ground floor windows were originally sashes.
C20 extension to the rear. (RCHM, Dorset, vol. III, p.81, no. 8).
