12-7-67 Outbuilding at Watergrove Mine

Mine building, now outbuilding. c1830. Coursed limestone rubble with gritstone
dressings. Stone slate roof with stone coped gables and moulded kneelers.
Remains of gable end stacks. Two bays, two storeys. Wide central doorcase with
large lintel, now partly blocked. Plank door to west side. To either side, wide
window openings with no glazing. Above, two further wide window openings, also
unglazed, both have timber lintels and are partly blocked towards centre of
building. Lean-to against east gable wall. To rear, flight of steps up to first
floor. Listed for its historical interest as early survival of industrial building
connected with lead mining.
