Flower Lillies

Country House, now divided into several units. C18, considerably
rebuilt and enlarged in two phases in mid-C19. Brick rendered
with stucco, colourwashed. Low pitched hipped Welsh slate roofs.
Rendered ridge stacks. Italianate style. Two storeys. partly
over a full basement storey. Irregular L-plan. North east range
of c1830 of seven by five bays. Deeply overhanging eaves. North
elevation has a stone balustrade over a basement area, and a central
Tuscan Doric porch with antae and attached columns. Segment headed
doorway, raised and fielded panelled door. Balustraded parapet.
To the left are three single bar sashes and to the right two similar
sashes either side of a C20 doorway. First floor has a tripartite
sash window flanked on each side by three single bar sashes. East
elevation has central doorway with glazed door and rectangular
over-light, flanked on each side by two plain sashes. Five plain
sashes above with louvred shutters. Cast iron verandah the full
length of the east elevation and returning on the south elevation.
South range of c1870s. First floor band. Three bays to east with
three segment headed windows to each floor, with moulded surrounds
and plain sashes. Full height canted bay to south with similar
windows, the ground floor ones with keyblocks linked to the band.
Four bays to left with segment headed windows with plain surrounds.
In the angle of the south and north east ranges is an Italianate
tower with pyramidal roof. A round arched window to each face with
moulded surround, keyblock, and impost band. Service and stable
courtyard attached to west. Interior: Re-set C18 staircase with
carved tread ends and three turned balusters per tread, the middle
one twisted Wreathed and ramped handrail. Fluted newels.
