ST 7317 STALBRIDGE HIGH STREET (EAST SIDE)
7/33 Wayside
II
House, now house and shop. Probably early C17 with C19 facade and alterations.
Street facade of squared and coursed rubble with tiled gable end roof and brick
dressings. 2 storeys, 5 window range. Cross passage plan with large stone
stack backing onto the cross passage. What were presumably service rooms are
to the right. Opposite the stack to the rear of the house is a projecting
stone stair tower with newel staircase. On the first floor the stack has the
remains of what appears to have been a four-centred head fireplace. To the
rear is a C19 stable wing with many original features. The house is listed for
its remaining early internal features rather than the facade.
