Navigation daymark (beacon), situated on headland, Froward Point. Built in 1864.
Slate rubble tower 80 feet high. Octagonal on plan, sharply battered with trun-
cated open top, and tall narrow pointed-head openings on each side at base form-
ing eight stilted piers. Built as a navigational aid by the Dart Harbour
Commissioners.
