2/2 Langstone Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Probably late C18 or early C19. Roughcast slate rubble slate
roof with gabled ends. Gable end stacks, the large right-hand stack
projects and has set-off, and a clay pot and left hand stack has a slate
capping.
Plan: 2-room plan with central entrance. Each room has gable end
fireplaces, the larger right-hand room is probably the kitchen and has a
massive projecting stack, the smaller left hand room is probably the
parlour. Later single storey outshut at the back and open-fronted
outbuilding at the lower left end. The ground drops steeply away at the
rear.
Exterior: 2 storey; Asymmetrical 2 window south front. C19 casements of 2
lights, the ground floor right-hand window is a C19 3-light casement, all
have glazing bars and slate sills. central doorway with a late C19 or C2O
plank door and an open-fronted stone parch with a scantle slate lean-to
roof.
Rear elevation not inspected.
Interior: not inspected but judging by its virtually unaltered exterior some
of the single interior features are likely to have survived.
