House, formerly a farmhouse. Circa early C19 stone rubble, rendered at
front. Slate hipped roof, gable-ended wing at rear. Large rendered stacks
at ends with covered yellow clay pots and lateral stcak at side of rear
wing.
Plan: 2 principal rooms in the front range, each heated from gable end
stacks and with a central entrance hall at the back of which is the
staircase. A little to the right of centre at the back there is a service
wing containing the kitchen with a lateral stack at the side and a lofted
outbuilding at the end. There is a single storey outshut in the angle to
the rear right against the rear wing.
Exterior: 2 storey. Symmetrical 3-window south front with original sashes
with glazing bars, 12-panes on first floor, 16 panes on ground floor, first
floor left hand is a later replacement with horns. Central doorway with C19
panelled and glazed door.
At the rear a gable-ended service wing with a lateral stack on the side
enclosed within a later single storey outshut in the angle with the main
range.
Interior: not inspected but original joinery appears to be intact including
panelled doors and narrow open-well staircase with stack balusters and
moulded handrail ramped up to column newels.
