Post Office Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse, formerly part of the Revelstoke estate. Dated 1885. Probably by George
Devey's office. Rockfaced local limestone with dressed quoins. Bitumenised scantle
slate roof with gabled and half-hipped ends. Deep battered plinth. Two storeys.
L-shaped on plan. Two storey triangular bay with hipped roof on gabled wing to left,
surmounted by wrought iron weathervane. Half-hipped dormer to right. Porch
diagonally placed in the angle, with wooden gable on shaped brackets. Continuous
slated pentice on brackets over ground storey windows. Ovolo wooden mullion windows
with leaded panes. Large red brick chimney stacks. Pilastered tablet on west side
with date 1885 and Lord Revelstoke's monogram.
