House, C17 remodelled and roof raised c.1830-1840. Painted rendered stone rubble
and cob. Slate roof with gable ends. Twin stacks at left gable end and rendered
stack to right gable end and lateral hall stack to rear with offsets and tapered
cap, enclosed by C19 2-storey outshut. 3 rooms and cross-passage probably formerly
through-passage plan, considerably enlarged in width by addition in C19 of 2-storey
outshut and 2-storeyed gabled dairy wing at right angles to rear right end. 2
storeys. 4-window range. 16 paned hornless sashes mostly retaining old glass.
Off-centre porch with plain unmoulded clasping pilasters. 6 panelled inner door.
Fire insurance plaque "West of England, Exeter" between central first floor
windows.
Interior. Wide span C19 roof trusses. Much of the C19 joinery survives and most
of the doorways have 2-panelled doors. Marble chimneypiece with tiled surround to
inner room. 3-ringed creamery to outshut which has lime-ash floor. Dairy fittings
intact including large central slated chest cover to well.
