House, now split into 2 premises with flat over. Early C19. Rendered stone rubble
and possibly some cob. Slate roof with gable ends. Small brick stack at left gable
end and central brick stack set back from the ridge.
Plan: Although no evidence is exposed of an earlier structure, the house conformed to
a 3-room and through-passage plan, with the largest principal room heated by a rear
lateral stack to the left of the former passage (the right-hand partition of which
has been removed) with small heated room beyond at left end with separate external
access, and apparently unheated room to right of former passage. C19 straight-run
staircase in axial rear corridor with access formerly from rear of passage.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 5 bays. C19 fenestration complete, all hornless 16 panes
sashes. Rusticated quoins pilasters. 2 C19 pilastered doorcases both with 6
panelled doors, that to right is the principal entrance with entablature and panelled
reveals, that towards left end has entablature continued over the sash to its left.
Interior. Principal room to left of passage has C19 moulded plaster cornice and
marble chimneypiece. C19 staircase with stick balusters, moulded string and handrail
ramped up to turned newels. C19 joinery principally intact, the upper storey largely
unaltered.
