Farmhouse. C17 with later alterations. Cob, stone plinth, plastered under half-
hipped and gabled-end thatch roof. Formerly a 3-room, cross-passage plan with
parlour wing, extended as a barn and subsequently converted to accommodation. 2
axial stacks, one backing onto passage; brick shafts. 2 storeys.
Front: 5-window range; all 3-light casement windows to 1st floor, 3 with 8-leaded
panes per light, 2 with stanchions to middle light. Panelled door to passage, with a
French window and a glazed door to extreme right-hand end; 3- and 4-light casement
window, the former with 15 leaded panes to outer lights. C20 barred casement window
to each floor at right-hand end. Rear lean-to with C20 windows; the wing has been
completely refenestrated with garage and mock-Georgian doors.
Interior: much altered; remains of a chamfered plank and muntin screen have been
removed to rear of hall to disguise stairs; deep chamfered beam with step hollow
stops to hall; fireplace with side oven. C17 or later roof; 7 trusses, crossed and
halved at apex, halved and pegged collars; wing with similar roof, the scantling of
higher quality.
