3 adjacent headstones. C18. All late slate upright square-headed slabs.
The left headstone stands approximately 450 millimetres high. The front top corners
are carved with winged cherubs heads over a nowy-headed panel flanked by wavey stems
with leaves. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering and
records the death of Michael Cooke in 1747. The right headstone stands approximately
500 millimetres high and has a simple incised frame and is inscribed with Roman serif
upper and lower case lettering and it is a poetic epitaph in praise of "a tender
mother, a virtuous wife" with no mention of a name or date.
This right headstone covers most of the front of an C18 headstone standing
approximately 700 millimetres high. In the centre of the head is carved a winged
cherubs head flanked by scrolled decoration. There is a rosette below each side and
wavy lines down each side. The inscription is Roman serif upper and lower case
lettering and records the death of Rebecca Snell but the date of her death is hidden.
The back of the headstone has a frame carved as a crude kind of egg-and-dart around
an inscription which records the death of Michael Snell in 1810.
