Railway viaduct carrying the Halwell to Holsworthy branch of the L.S.W.R., built for the
Devon and Cornwall Railway Co. 1879. Masonry construction. Eight semicircular arches,
parapet said to have been destroyed and replaced by concrete coping. Not accessible at
time of survey (December 1987.) Said to be 420 ft long and 80ft high. This branch line
opened 20.1.1879 and closed 3.10.1966. (Kelly's Directory, 1910; D.Thomas, A Regional
