Former house, now 2 dwellings. C16, floored and heated in C17, refronted
late C18 and early to mid C19, extended later C19, altered C20. Timber
frame, largely cased and extended in brick, whitewashed. Tiled roofs.
Apple Tree Cottage to left is most of original 3 bay hall. 1 storey and
attic. Entrance to right with gabled hood. C20 casement to left,
slightly cambered head. 2 light dormer. Left gable end: exposed frame,
jowled posts, rail, studs, tie beam, queen struts to collar clasping
purlins. Two 4-light casements. Short wing projects to rear with
external stack with offsets to left. Attached to right is Vernon Cottage
which incorporates part of original building. Front wall set back behind
brick front of Apple Tree Cottage. C20 casements below an added gable.
Entrance in mid to late C19 extension to right. Interior not inspected.
