House. Late C18 with earlier origins and early C19 west front. Red brick:
west front in Flemish bond, east front rendered and incised in immitation of
ashlar. Square on plan: 2-room central entrance hall west front with
earlier 2-room central stairhall range to rear forming east front; small
extension to south represents remains of former wing. West front: 2
storeys, 3 bays; symmetrical. Stucco plinth of 2 rusticated courses. Three
stone steps to entrance with fluted Ionic columns supporting scrolled
consoles and open pediment, reeded on underside; half-glazed door and radial
fanlight with ornate glazing in arched fielded-panel reveal. 12-pane ground
floor sashes in reveals with stucco architraves and recessed panels below.
Similar first floor sashes with stucco cills and painted rubbed brick flat
arches. Plain eaves board. Stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers. End
stacks with moulded ashlar cornices. Ground floor bow window to left return
has ashlar base, full-height sashes with glazing bars in reeded architraves,
moulded cornice, tall frieze with cornice and shallow hood, moulded to
underside. East front has entrance to right of centre with 6-fielded-panel
door beneath overlight with geometric glazing in doorcase with Doric half-
columns supporting consoles and entablature with paterae, moulded cornice
and flat hood. 12-pane sashes in flush wooden architraves beneath painted
stucco flat arches incised in immitation of rubbed brick. Stone-coped
gables and end stacks similar to west front. Interior not fully
investigated. Late C18 open well staircase with wreathed handrail, column
newels and column-on-vase balusters with square knops; entrance hall has
moulded plaster cornice and ceiling rose, reeded surround to front door;
delicate cornice to ground floor front right; fielded-panel doors and window
shutters to earlier section; beaded-panel shutters and doors to west front
