Large house. C18 core; early C19 garden front; later C19 additions to side and
rear. Stuccoed red brick, pantile and Welsh slate roofs. 2 storeys 1:3:1:3:1-bay
garden front extends beyond right end of C18 core; 1-storey 3-bay dining room
addition on right; later C19 addition under own roof across rear. Garden front:
central Doric columned porch with plain entablature encloses part-glazed double
door with fanlight and archivolt. Flanking 2-storey bay windows with continuous
sills linking plain sashes in corniced architraves; other windows are similar, those
to first floor without cornices. String course and cornice beneath plain parapet
with balustraded panels over bay windows and centre. Part-rendered brick stacks
to ends and right of centre. Mid C19 dining room, set forward on right, is in same
style but with triglyphs to the frieze. Rear (facing road): 3:6:3 windows to
ground floor, the centre slightly recessed; plain sashes with continuous sill and
corniced architraves; first floor has shaped aprons to similar windows without
cornices. Lower 3-bay side wing on left. Hipped roofs. Interior not inspected.
Former list description notes c1890 redecoration of staircase in gallery and
panelled billiard room; also notes garden front rooms of C18 character, original
chimneypieces.
