Farmhouse mid C18, NE wing early C19. Red brick with slate roofs. A
large L-shaped group set back from road facing E consisting of a
2-storeys, cellar and attics house parallel with road, and a lower
2-storeys range extending to E from N part of front of house. The main
range has a large internal chimney heating the main living room on its N
with twin service rooms at N end. Stair rising on S side of stack and
parlour at S end with an internal S gable chimney, and cellar below.
Floors framed with cross-beams. NE wing a service wing with pantry and
large kitchen with E gable chimney. Lean-to extension at E end. E front
of main house has 2 gabled dormers on the roofslope, 2 flush box sash
windows with 6/6 panes on 1st floor with segmental arches. 2 similar
windows to ground floor with 3/3 large panes. Door in heavy frame up 2
steps with rectangular fanlight. (RCHM Typescript).
