Farmhouse. Built late C15 or early C16 as a 2-bay hall, a third
bay added at S end in late C16. Cased in red brick in late C18.
Plain tile hipped roof. C16/17 chimney stack in centre of range
with square shafts and square arrises. 2 storeys. Front
elevation has, to the right of a modern porch, a square gazebo
with 2 sash windows in an ogee-headed moulded frame. On right
are 2 C20 glazing bar casements in C18 frames, segmental-headed
on ground floor. To left of door is a C17/18 eaves gable; C20
extension beyond. Interior has tie beam of hall abutting the
stack, the 1st floor part to S with mid Cl7 lozenge-shaped
plaster panels. C17 mullioned window behind stack. N side
ground floor with C16 stone fireplace said to have been brought
from Old Gorhambury. (RCHM Typescript).
