Farmhouse. C17, possibly an earlier core. Recased in red brick
1888 (date plaque on W gable end). Timber frame. Cemented and
roughcast upper floor. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys. L-shaped
block. C20 casements. Projecting W block is double pile with
twin gable end. Mid C17 red brick stack in valley of roof with 3
square shafts. Another C17 stack abuts the front range. The N
elevation has a 2-storey range on right. In centre is a lower
projecting stair tower cased in C18 red brick. On left is a 1
storey and attic range. Internally this part of the house shows,
on the upper floor, 1 wall of Wealden framing. On ground floor
is an early C18 fireplace with rounded corners. C17 staircase to
rear. Attached to the W end of the house is a barn range. The
nearest barn has a C15-16 red brick ground floor and is probably
the shell of an earlier farmhouse. Queen strut roof in 2 bays:
1 gable end facing W, another projecting on N. Attached on W is
a mid C19 single storey barn. Flint walls, dressed in red brick.
S side with 2 stable doors and 3 casement windows.
