House. Late C15 hall house with mid C17 cross wing on E. Cased
in red brick in later C18. Plain tile roof. 1 storey and attics
on left, 2 storeys and attic on left, 2 storeys and attic on
right. The left side is 2 windows and contains a 2-bay former
open hall and a 1 bay contemporary cross wing. The front has 3
C18 leaded casements, each 4 lights in segmental heads. 2
similar casements to gabled dormers on left. C20 timber frame
tiled porch. Wing has rebuilt attic. Left part has plinth and
floor band. Large external mid C17 chimney stack to E wall of
wing: tall base with high plinth and shallow off-sets. 2

range has stack of same date, probably rebuilt from earlier base:
4 square shafts in cruciform plan. Internally, the bay next to
the C17 wing has late C16 moulded floor beams. Clasped purlin
roof above. Hall is divided from this bay by a smoke-blackened

W connect with a C19 barn range to form an L plan. (RCHM
Typescript).
