GV II

House. Circa 1830-40. Altered later in C19. Rendered brick.
Low hipped slate roof. 2 storeys. Original house L-shaped. The
front is 1:3:1 windows, the end bays slightly projecting.
Sashes, but left bay altered to form 3 storeys with casements.
Square projecting porch with 4 fluted Greek Doric columns and a
straight dentilled entablature. Later C19 service wing on left
end. Garden front is 8 sash windows, the 3 centre windows in a 2-
storey canted bay. Right 2 windows blocked. Ground floor has a
continuous cast iron sun verandah, the pilasters with guilloche
pattern. Round the whole house is a wide bracketed eaves soffit.
Interior has a good staircase hall, top lit by dome and with
mutule cornice. Ground floor rooms with simple fret and foliage
cornices.
