School, now offices. 1862 by E Browning in a polychrome Decorated Gothic style. Knapped flint walling with zig-zag bands of yellow gault brick. Westmoreland slate roof with zig-zag Welsh slate pattern. E gable end has a diagonal-set wooden belfry with a leaded spike. Traceried woodwork to top of gable beneath. Single storey. Church Street side has 3 gables over 3-light traceried windows. Dog tooth eaves. Slightly later W extension with plate-traceried, 2-light window beneath smaller gable. 2 similar windows on return gable end. Round arch window to W gable with foliate label stops. Rear elevation much altered. (Pevsner (1977)).
