Post Office, now house. c.1893. John Douglas. English garden
wall bond brick, terracotta dressings and clay tile roof.
Asymmetrical L-shaped plan with 2 storeys and a porch. 3
bays with first floor decorative brickwork band, overhanging
eaves and steeply pitched roof with 2 prominent gable
stacks. 3-light flattened ogee-headed window in bay 1 and 4-
light similar in bay 3 (which projects as a wing) but with a
transom. All the windows are detailed in terracotta and only
the first floor ones retain leaded lights. The porch in bay
2 is timber framed and has a pitched roof. The first floor
has decorative lozenge panels in brick and painted render to
bay 1 and the gable of bay 3. Bays 2 and 3 have 2 and 3-
light mullion windows as above.
