Garden and stable-yard walls with piers and steps. Early C18 with C19 alterations
and additions. Brick, and sandstone rubble, with ashlar dressings and copings;
ashlar piers. High garden wall breaks forward from first bay of service
extension on side of Broomshields Hall, and runs parallel to house in series of
steps down to left, meeting dwarf wall enclosing sunken garden in front of
house. Stone outer and brick inner leaves, the high wall originally heated;
flat stone copings; squat corniced piers on corners and terminating steps
down to garden in left wall. Round-headed arch with chamfered voussoirs
adjacent to house in high wall, approached by steps from stable yard. Stable
yard enclosed by short walls of rubble with flat stone copings linking garden
wall and stable-coach-house wing. 2 square piers at yard entrance are chamfered
with cornices and low pyramidal coping.
