Shelter shed, now a stable. C17 or earlier, extended to S and
enclosed as stable in C19. Timber frame weatherboarded under a
steep hipped thatch roof extending down over lean-to stable at S
end. A 3-bay shelter shed facing W but with open front now
enclosed by vertical boarding and 2 stable doors formed in each
side. Heavy jowled posts in low sidewalls with curved braces to
bowed tie-beams, and to the formerly open W side. Queen-strut
and collar, clasped-purlin roof. A picturesque historic thatched
building in the park of Ardeley Bury.
