Barn and 2-storeys shelter shed with hay loft over. Early C19.
Timber frame on tarred brick sill, weatherboarded with slate
roofs (hipped on barn). Part of a courtyard of contemporary farm
buildings, open to S where farmhouse stands (q.v.). N side
occupied by a tall lO-bay double barn of wide span (about 9m)
with 2 pairs of double doors on S. Pitching doors at high level
at rear. Unjowled posts linked by a mid-height rail. Long
curved braces to tie beams. Clasped-purlin roof boarded below
purlin, with both king-post and queen-posts. At NE a 2-storeys
building open below to yard as a shelter shed with a
weatherboarded hay-loft over. The 2 most interesting buildings
in the contemporary layout of farm buildings.
