Public house. Early C17, extended late C18. Altered and extended C19 and
C20. Timber frame to core. Extended and cased in red brick with burnt
headers. Later stock brick and rendered additions. Tiled roof. Original
2 bay house with gable end to the Green refronted and extended to the
left, 3 window front. 2 storeys. C20 central entrance porch and ground
floor canted bay all under a slate hood. First floor C19 flush frame
sashes. Dentilled brick eaves. Hipped roof. Right return has original
house set slightly behind later front. Later external stack at junction
of 2 builds. Exposed posts. Ground floor 24 pane horizontal sliding
sash. First floor 2 light casement. To rear gable end some exposed
framing and a large original external stack, English bond with offsets,
crow stepped sides, lean-to oven. C19 stock brick continuous outshut
addition to rear of C18 block. C20 additions to left link to earlier
outbuilding, rendered with dentilled brick eaves. Interior: large C17
fireplace, ground floor stop chamfered binding beam. Curved braces to
tie beams, that to centre cut, and to wall plates. Queen struts to
collars clasping purlins, wind braces.
