Farmhouse. Circa 1853 for Charles Longman who moved the farm to build
Shendish House (q.v) on the old site to SE. Uncoursed knapped flint with
grey brick dressings. Red tiled steep roofs with ornamental banding and
carved bargeboards. A large 2-storeys, H-plan house facing S with
octagonal outhouse linked to SW corner by a tiled covered way. 5 windows
long front with gabled wing each end and a pair of smaller gables
flanking entrance. Cusped bargeboards with pendants. 2-light mullioned
windows with small panes and labels. Large chimneys with conjoined
square flues. Rear has 3-windows to centre with segmental arches and
centre door. 1-storey N part to each wing. 3 windows E and W fronts.
