Circa 1800-20. Substantial detached former house with later, mid-c19, additions.
Two storeys, red brick with symmetrical 5 bay entrance, the central 3 bays slightly
advanced and pedimented. Moulded stone cornice and parapet. Stone plinth.
Hipped slate roof. Plain brick chimney stacks. Revealed glazing bar sashes,
thin stone cills and slightly cambered reeded stone arches with keystones.
Central 1st floor window with cornice and entablature on console brackets,
extended down as French casement joining onto roof of coupled Tuscan column
porch. Double entrance doors with glazed upper panels. Cast iron railings
to roof of porch. Originally the house was of 3 bay depth, viz north side
with lower service wing. The south side was extended to 7 bays in similar
style circa 1860-70, with plastered low windows on ground floor, the centre
lights as marginal glazed French casements.
