5/134 The Steps Farmhouse
GV II
Farmhouse. C17, altered C20. Timber-framed with wattle-and-daub and
brick infill, sandstone plinth completely refaced with pebble-dash render,
tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned north-west/south-east with through-
passage and end stacks, lean-to to rear (north-east). Single storey and
attic with cellar, three gabled dormers with 2-light C20 casement windows,
similar windows flank C20 porch with steps up and ledged inner door. Framing
largely complete and lost to south-east gable end only. Three square panels
from sill to wall-plate. Interior retains chamfered ceiling beams.
