4/11 Hawkersland Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Probably C16 and C17, altered in mid- and late C19. Rubble
plinth, timber-frame with brick and plaster infill, slate roof and local
type stone external stack to south end. Two ranges: the principal one
aligned north/south; the other attached to north end projects east from
a short earlier diminutive projection. Two storeys, three-bay main range
and two-bay projecting part. East elevation: main range has raised roof,
probably early or mid-C19 and mid-C20 steel casements: one of three lights
to left of entry, a similar one above it and a third of two lights over
the entry. To the right of the entry is a small casement. The right hand
projecting range has one 2-light mid-C19 casement to the first floor over
a high rubble ground storey. Facing south on the side of the projecting
range is a late C19 lean-to with a 2-light casement between two ledged doors.
