Manor house. Medieval origins, substantially rebuilt in late C16, altered
c1830 and extended c1928. Sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, plain
tiled roofs, brick stacks. Rectangular plan with main front facing south
consisting of larger part to east and lower part to west. East part: two
storeys, three gables, outer two with chimneys, central one with a 3-
light attic window and two cross-casements on first floor, a range of
similar windows to right hand side, all these under labels; datestone of
1830 on ground floor square projecting 2-light C20 bay with flat roof
concealed by parapet; small garret light in the corner of left hand gable.
West part: two storeys and attic under gabled Cotswold dormers. Three
windows, the two right hand windows correspond to C18 work and the left
to a further extension indicated by a date stone of 1928. Entrance at
east end of the north front under a mid-C19 oriel and through a re-set C13
or C14 doorway. On the east elevation are two late C19 bay windows, the
north one is canted. Interior not inspected. [RCHM, Vol II, p 68; Richard
