House and school, now offices. Dated 1781. Limewashed brick. Corbelled brick
eaves to plain tiled roof with part catslide outshut to rear. End stacks and
2 stacks off-ridge to rear of right of centre. 2 small hipped dormers to left.
2 storeys; irregular fenestration of 6 windows on 1st floor and 4 on ground
floor, with smaller central window. 2 panelled doors with moulded flat project-
ing hoods, one bay in from each end. C20 extension at rear (not listed). In
centre of first floor is a plaque with inscriptions in Latin and Greece. Below
this is another plaque inscribed 'This house and school and that at Leybourne
were bath erected and endowed at the sole expense of the Reverend Edward Holme,
Vicar of Birling.
