Parish Church Churchyard Cross)

GV II*

Churchyard cross with base and shaft. Possibly C14 with shaft restored and
shortened. Dressed sandstone. Octagonal base on three steps has ogee-
headed niche on west side and pyramidical stops bringing it to square plan
at the bottom. Base of shaft also has pyramidical stops. Head has figures
facing towards cardinal points viz Crucifixion to west; St Andrew to north,
Virgin and Child to east, and a bishop to the south. An important church-
yard cross in view of its surviving medieval figure sculpture (RCHM Vol II,
p 156).
