4/12 The Manor House and Manor Cottage

House and adjoining cottage. Mid-C18. Manor House of brick with tile roof.
Double-depth plan under M-roof. A symmetrical composition of two storeys
and three bays. Windows are casements with glazing bars and gauged brick
heads. Central bay projects and hasa Venetian window on the first floor
with rubbed brick cornice. To each side of the doorway are small windows
with an entablature of rubbed brick interrupted by a timber doorcase. This
has a glazed round head within an open pediment on brackets. Chimney on
right-hand gable. Adjoining to the right and partly forming Manor Cottage
is a lower range of brick and timber-framing with tile roof. To the right
of its left-hand door it has a window, with a window above under the eaves.
To the right is a window within a blocked doorway. To the right of a second
doorway are three windows. The right-hand gable truss has vertical struts
between tie-beam and collar, and V-struts above.
