House. Probably C17 with later alterations. Timber-framing, mostly replaced by brick, with tile roof. One storey with attic. The right-hand half of the facade is of two bays with three exposed principal posts. The left-hand bay has a window under the eaves with a very small window below it to the right. The right-hand bay has a French window on to the upper storey, partly within a dormer and approached by cast iron steps and a balcony. The left-hand part of the facade has a window with segmental head between two doorways, and an attic dormer. The doorways have tiled gabled canopies, the right-hand one over a glazed porch. Chimneys to right of left-hand doorway and on rear
wall at right. One of the clay ridge tiles has an attached finial, now partly broken but perhaps representing a bird. The right-hand gable wall has exposed framing in square panels and vertical struts between tie-beam and collar.
Interior: not fully accessible at time of survey (May 1986), but said to have smoke-blackened purlins. If true this suggests that the house is partly older than the C17 but contradicts other visible evidence.
