The Old Farmhouse
II
Formerly known as Bowditch Farmhouse. Circa C16/17. Stone rubble. Thatched roof
with half hipped and gabled ends, and with eyebrow eaves. L-shaped on plan with
short wing to left (north-west). Two storeys. Three window range. Small modern
casements with glazing bars. Modern glazed door to left of centre with modern
wooden porch. Rebuilt brick chimney stacks at ridge and gable end. Staircase
projection at rear.
Interior: the north end has one jointed cruck truss, chamfered ceiling beams and
open fireplace with chamfered bressummer.
