Carswell Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Circa C16 or C17 stone rubble house with roughcast front. New concrete
tile roof with stone coping to gable ends. Two storeys. Four window range. Modern
casements and modern porch at centre. Chimney stacks at gable ends. Single storey
wing at rear and modern wing at west end. Interior: heavy chamfered ceiling
beams. Fireplace at west end with cambered and chamfered timber bressumer and
chamfered jambs. Said to have been a screen to the cross passage.
