7/197 Lych gate to churchyard of the
- Church of St John
GV II
Lych gate. Late C19. Timber-framed on local stone rubble sleeper walls with
limestone coping; red tile roof. The sleeper walls have limestone ashlar quoins and
chamfered coping. Framed walls sit on top walls and make a plain arcade. The roof
is hipped both ends and has a limestone ridge surmounted by a plain Latin cross.
The lych gate contains its original double gates which contain a top tier of
trefoil-headed panels.
