Chest tomb. Dated 1620 in memory of John Prings. Beerstone ashlar. Chest tomb is
rectangular in section and has a thick lid with moulded edges. On the long sides
there are panelled pilasters towards each end articulated like small buttresses with
weathered offsets. Any plinth is buried. The north side is inscribed in large
Gothic lettering and records the death of John Prings in 1620. On the west side
(close to the church porch) is inscribed "Prepare for death".
