Barn. Early C18, timber framed, weatherboarded and plastered with slated,
half hipped roof. 4 bays long. Single aisle on south side. Diagonal braces
to tie beams. Side purlin roof. Upper floor in east end bays. Early C20
leaded casements and glazed screen from ground to eaves on north side.
Re-used C17 panelled door on east end. Easton Glebe was occupied for some time
by the writer H G Wells and his family, and it is recorded that this barn was
used for children's games and dramatic productions involving well-known literary
figures. The upper floor, leaded casements, glazed screen and panelled door
were presumably all added by H G Wells. Included for group value only.
