Pair of gate piers, gates and section of adjoining wall to east. Mid C19,
although the gate piers may be late C17 or C18, reused. Granite gate piers about
1.8 metres high, square in section, with swept tapering tops surmounted by ball
finials. Pair of C19 iron gates. Each gate has 5 full-height uprights and 6 short intermediate uprights, all with diamond finials within iron frame; the lower part of each gate has a long arch-brace. Between the piers is a granite end step and small threshold of pitched stones. Stone rubble boundary wall with coping is included for group value. 1836 drawings of this site show neither gateposts nor wall; instead there was a stone lychgate, stile and hedge.
