6/14 Single lodge and gateway
to Rookesbury
II
Small lodge at the southern entrance to the park. c1830. Stucco walls, low
parapet of a blocking course above a cornice. Low-pitched hipped slate roof.
Symmetrical single-storeyed west front, with a window at each side of a central
recess (flanked by pilasters), which contains the entrance. Sashes. Glazed door.
C20 extension at the rear. The gateway comprises massive coupled piers, on
either side of the carriageway; stucco with simple mouldings to the caps.
Wrought iron gates, and rails between the piers.
