Town hall. Tablet of 1877. Brick, stone dressings, tile roof. 2 storey and
attic, 3 bay and lower range to rear. Front has in centre pointed shouldered
arch with double 6-panel doors. Each side double sash recessed in pointed
opening, overruns moulded 1st floor band arched above it. On 1st floor in
centre on moulded brick machicolations is balcony with cast-iron railings
having pointed openwork. Behind half-glazed double doors, with date stone in
head of lintel. Each side double sash with sill band running right across.
Over centre bay pointed recess above window, string over. Above kneelered gable
with round window and geometric brick patterns in glazed brick. Above this on
main ridge, short clock tower, tilehung lower part clock on each face and
bell-cast roof. Each end kneelered gable wall and stack.
