House, former group of cottages. c1600, with extensions of C17, late C18 and
early C19. Timber frame, flint and brick, with thatched and slate roof. The
main part is a timber-framed structure with a massive central stack and lobby
entrance, extended at the west end by a timber-framed addition, and at the east
by small extensions of the late C18 and early C19. 1 storey and attic, the east
end a lower 2 storeys; irregular fenestration. The thatched roof is ½-hipped
at the west end, and at the east end joins the hipped slate roof: the thatched
part has eyebrow dormers. Exposed frame with painted brick infill (about
½ the panels with herring-bone); the east end has flintwork with brick quoins
and cambered arches, the west wall is rendered. Casements. Boarded door in a
plain frame.
