10/33 The Old Rectory (formerly

Rectory now private house. C15 core encased late C17 building, extended mid and
late C18 and early C19. Timber-frame core, brick on flint plinth, mostly render,
additions brick, and brick and flint, old plain tile roofs. 2 storey, 4 bay
oldest range with remains of C15 part at left end inside. To rear on left square
C18 block. To rear on right late C18 wing. To rear in centre C17 staircase
projection incorporated into C19 wing. Front of oldest range has half-glazed
door in left centre bay. In other bays 3-light casements, 4 smaller similar on
1st floor. Windows and doors early C19 with cambered head to each light.
End stacks and large stcak to rear of centre of main range staircase of oak with
turned balusters and newels, 3 balusters per step, moulded handrail ramped
up over newels and softwood dado bolection moulded panelling and moulded handrail.
On 1st floor in left bay room has exposed windbraces and purlin of C15 roof and
C17 corner cupboard.
