Wellbrook House

1875-7 by G G Scott, junior. A plain but stylish house with early C18 proportions and
mid C19 Georgian details. The south-east elevation is symmetrical, of 2 storeys and
attic, 4 windows. Steep hipped tile roof, brick dentil eaves with stepped fascia
(broken above openings), 2 hipped dormers with casements. Red brick walling in
English bond, rubbed flat arches, first floor band (broken above the openings),
plinth; flush blue panels between the openings and blue bands at cill and plinth
levels. Sashes in reveals. The north-west (entrance elevation has a similar
treatment, with an almost central plain arched doorway with a window above, and
2 windows to the north side. There is a single-storeyed flat roofed north wing, of
matching style, and a screen wall connected to a small stable (now garage) block.
