Barn and farm buildings. C18, altered and extended mid-late C19,
altered C20. Coursed, squared stone, of varying qualities, stone
slate roof. Three-bay barn, lean-to and porch to one side, short
extensions each end. Facade to house: porch on left end of barn,
wide opening, wall extended as buttress each side, flat concrete
lintel; 2-light mullioned window over, parapet gable, cross-gablet
apex. Three-bay lean-to to right, 2 stone piers, openings infilled
with metal windows below eaves, one boarded door; parapet gable
right end, roof rises almost to eaves of barn: parapet gables to
barn, cross-gablet apices. Single-bay added on left end lower,
hidden by later buildings not of special interest. To right ground
lower: set back lower wing, lean-to dog kennels with 2 boarded
doors in front, single light window over, parapet gable. Interior:
door from porch to lean-to: wide openings cut in gables of barn
below loft level, cambered stone arch to opening on left. Rear
door to threshing floor low with timber lintel. Walls to bays on
right lined glazed tiles to about 1.25m high: slit air vent in
right gable. Queen strut trusses to barn, with 3 pairs purlins and
no ridge member: right extension iron truss. Barn with threshing
floor at one end and possibly granary over porch, later extended
each end, lean-to shed for yard cattle added, later converted to
other uses. Forms group with house (q.v.).
