Farmhouse. Mid C17 and C19. Thinly-bedded coursed squared and
dressed limestone with large squared and dressed limestone quoins.
Stone slate and concrete tile roofing; ashlar stack with early
brick towards the top. Rectangular plan with later extension to
rear. Two storeys, attic and cellar. Twin-gabled east front:
two large 3-light steel casements with transoms to the ground
floor; two 3-light steel casements to the first floor; both sets
of windows within double-chamfered surrounds suggesting these
windows formerly had stone mullions and transoms; continuous
dripmoulds over both sets of windows; 2-light double-chamfered
stone-mullioned casement to each gable. North-facing elevation:
two C19 three-light casements with horizontal glazing bars to the
ground floor, one within a blocked doorway with lintel with
keystone cutting former projecting stack, demolished above first
floor level; small 2-light stone-mullioned casement far right;
C19 four-panelled door with 2-light stone-mullioned hall light
above. Continuous hoodmould over the ground floor windows and
doorway. C20 three-light steel casement within a dressed stone
surround above; blind window painted to imitate the latter far
left; small double-chamfered 2-light casement far right; small
single-light window to upper floor of lean-to to the right. Flat-
roofed 2-light eaves dormer. Three 2-light double-chamfered
stone-mullioned casements with diamond leaded panes to the south-
facing elevation. C20 two-light steel casement upper left.
Large projecting stacks at the centre of the north and south-facing
elevations. Flat coping to gable ends.
Interior: large open fireplace stone lintel; bread oven off
fireplace; beams with deep flat chamfers and large stepped steps;
square panelled timber-framed partition walls some retaining wattle
and daub.
