GV II
House, now flats and a shop. Mid C18 with early C20 shopfront. Brick, with
tiled roof, but slate at the front. Symmetrical front (east) of 3 storeys,
5 windows. Hipped roof, moulded eaves. Blue header brickwork with red flush
dressings; quoins (continued downwards to bands), 1st and 2nd floor bands,
rubbed flat arches, and walling below ground floor cills. Sashes in reveals.
Wood doorcase with modillion open pediment, broken cornice above Ionic caps,
¾ plain columns, arched opening with decorative fanlight, double doors (of
3 panels) above 3 stone steps. At the north side is a shopfront with a
cornice, frieze, fanlight, and ½-glazed door. The interior has doors,
fireplaces, and an oval staircase flight (from top to bottom) with wreathed
mahogany rail.
